- Strade Bianche Donne, Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix Femmes, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia now form the recognized women's Monument calendar.
- The calendar grew fast — Paris-Roubaix Femmes only started in 2021, and a women's Il Lombardia was added for 2025.
- Each Monument rewards a different rider: rouleurs, sprinters, puncheurs, climbers — very few win across more than two.
- Compared to the men's calendar, fields are smaller and the racing is often more aggressive from kilometer zero.

What counts as a women's Monument
There is no official, UCI-ratified list of women's Monuments — the term migrated from the men's calendar and is still settling. The closest thing to consensus centers on five races: Strade Bianche Donne, the Ronde van Vlaanderen Voor Vrouwen, Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift, Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes, and Il Lombardia Women. Each has its own character, its own type of rider, and increasingly its own folklore.
The calendar grew fast. Strade Bianche Donne was added to the women's schedule in 2007, the Ronde has been on it since 2004, Liege arrived in 2017, Roubaix in 2021, and Lombardia in 2025. Where the men's Monument calendar is set in stone, the women's version is still being poured.

Strade Bianche Donne — the modern classic
Strade Bianche Donne is the youngest of the calendar by reputation but the most-loved by television. A short, sharp race around Siena, decided on the steep gravel sectors that funnel into the Piazza del Campo finish. The Dutch and Italians have owned it: Elisa Longo Borghini, Annemiek van Vleuten, Lotte Kopecky, Demi Vollering.
What makes Strade different is the absence of history. With only two decades on the books, every winner is still adding to the legend rather than inheriting it. The hilly run-in punishes any rider who waits too long — and the gravel makes positioning more important than raw watts.

Roubaix Femmes — the youngest Monument, the hardest verdict
Paris-Roubaix Femmes arrived in October 2021 — a delayed spring classic run in autumn rain — and immediately wrote itself into the calendar. Lizzie Deignan won the inaugural edition from a long breakaway that survived to the velodrome. Since then the race has crowned sprinters, attackers, and a near-perfect ride by Alison Jackson from a 17-rider break in 2023.
The cobbles do not care about your palmares. A 60-kilo climber and a 75-kilo rouleur face the same sectors and the same risk of mechanicals, crashes, and sheer bad luck. The race is shorter than the men's but every bit as brutal on the body.

Who has won the most — and what it takes
Standout riders on the women's Monument calendar tend to specialize. Anna van der Breggen, Annemiek van Vleuten and Marianne Vos each stacked wins across Strade, Flanders and Liege. Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes are the modern sprinter-puncheur hybrids — capable on the bergs and devastating in small-group finishes.
To win all five requires a rare blend: the climbing legs for Liege, the bike-handling for Roubaix, and the tactical brain for Flanders. No rider has won all five in a career. Few ever will.

How to follow the spring
The women's Monuments cluster from early March (Strade) through mid-April (Roubaix), with Liege closing the spring in late April and Lombardia opening the autumn. Most are broadcast on the same platforms that show the men's editions — though coverage is sometimes shorter and the start lists less promoted.
If you're new to the women's sport, pick one Monument and watch the final 60 kilometres. The racing is shorter than the men's and the gaps are tighter, which means more attacking from further out.
