Responsibility and mission
Julian Rides is independently edited by Julian Cooper. It focuses on gear, training, data, and racing for road and gravel riders. The goal is to answer a specific question, explain trade-offs, and provide a usable decision framework.
Research and sources
Articles prioritize manufacturer documentation, race organizers, peer-reviewed research, industry standards, and credible primary material. Important facts are cross-checked where possible, with sources listed at the end of the article. Opinion, estimates, and personal experience are distinguished from verifiable facts.
Reviews and firsthand experience
An article says a product, route, or training method was tested only when it was actually used. Comparisons without firsthand testing are based on published specifications, reliable sources, and clearly identified analysis. Research is not presented as a hands-on review.
AI assistance
Automated tools may assist with organizing research, first-draft structure, translation, or the clearly labeled “AI quick summary.” Julian Cooper selects, edits, and takes editorial responsibility for published material. AI output is not treated as a source; factual claims still require traceable support. Material that cannot be verified is removed or its uncertainty is stated.
Corrections and updates
Factual errors are corrected promptly. Material changes that affect a conclusion are disclosed in the article.
